My Dream Horse.
In May 2003 we were over from Northumberland looking for Hunters and we dropped in on My God Mother Susie as we were passing. Susie had told me that she had a nice 4 year old that wasn’t going to make the grade as a show jumper. Initially I wasn’t to keen as I wanted a horse that I could hunt hard that season and felt that at 4 he might be to green. When I saw him though I changed my mind – it was one of those “love at 1st Sight things”. I asked Susie the price and she told me that as she hadn’t given me a very good christening present she wanted me to have the “bugger”! How could I refuse!
Sam was bred by Susie & Marily from Susie’s old Hunter Mare called Softie and his Sire was Crosstown Dancer! He is pure ID which baffles the English as they expect something heavier. He looks ¾ thoroubred and yet has that perfect ID temperament, for me he ticks all the right boxes, he will stand at a meet like a statue, he loves the hounds which is important, he has a very quick turn of speed, he has never stopped at a fence (which has been my undoing twice) he will hunt 3 days a week if necessary, field mastering on him is a pleasure as he has such presence but if you are away on your own he loves that also, if you have to get off him to sort a gate out or take wire off something you just let go off him and he stays put. He is great at home in every way to do ie box, shoe, clip yet his only undoing is his fondness of rotating his pelvis with being over exuberant when out to grass. Primarily he is my horse but my wife hunts him occasionally which puts my mind at ease as I know he will look after her! He is the perfect gent and my absolute dream horse and I cant thank Susie and Marily enough for letting me have him...

I am still delighted with Tori (nee Vicky) and have started competingher. I have done some unaffiliated dressage and was very pleased when 2nd time out we got 72% and came 8th with over 40 in the class, it was only later, I realised the class was the inter-riding club finals. I was really pleased as I am a leisure rider and it is about 25 years since I last competed!
Just wanted to thank you for breeding and selling me a horse that gives me so much pleasure, she is a dream to do and own and will go as far as my limited capabilities allow her. Kind regards, Kate Freeman
A very BIG thank you from, Aileen and Ashling Kelly...We bought Super C D from Susie and Marily back in 1999.We were after a horse that would do almost anything, and be a real confidence builder. We were shown a 5 year old RID mare by Cream of Diamonds out of Grammaphone and immediately we clicked with her. So far she has taken us hunting, show jumping, dressage, XC and is a super horse on roads hacks. Three years on we have never looked back.
Sebastian O'Kelly found his perfect mount, Khadija, at Suma Stud while doing research for a book about Amedeo Guillet, who had trained horses for Mussolini. Old friends of Susie's from the show riding world, Amedeo recognised the young horses potential as an amateur eventer and hunter. Exactly what Sebastian was looking for in an Irish sport horse who was by the Irish draught stallion Crosstown Dancer, and a thoroughbred mare, a daughter of the racehorse Exhibitioner.

Joan Griffith found her dream horse, Crosstown Sky, at Suma Stud after inquiring via email looking for a bomb-proof horse that could do everything from riding to driving. She found an amazing Irish draught temperament in a 5 year old mare by Glenagyle Rebel out of Tara Sky. Joan did a bit of jumping with Sky and a ride out on the roads around Suma Stud and decided she'd be proud to ride this horse anywhere. Today they enjoy dream rides around the countryside of Mannebach, Germany.
